"today's going to be a good day"

I really didn't want to get up this morning, but: I had work. After breakfast and getting ready to go, I was so thinkin' I was going to be late, and I so totally freaked out when I saw the clock in my truck saying it was 9:35 and not 8:35; but I realized that I just hadn't gotten around to setting it back. Big relief. But either way, I was expecting to be late none-the-less, but after hitting evry light green and not having to come to a complete stop the entire way, I actually arrived to work early. That was cool, and didn't hurt @ all the care-free, hurt me: it don't matter to me mood I've had all day. I was... happy... I guess you could call it. In any case. Cliff, this new guy that actually picks stuff up quick and does his job, came in two hours early on an accident thinking he was supposed to come in @ 9:00 instead of 11:00. That was handy; it's always nice to have an extra pair of hands. And Eric, the older fellow that I normally work w/, came in incredably late (fourty-five minutes) considering that he's normally @ least 10 minutes early. But @ least he did show up. But today was the slowest I've ever seen McAlister's in a while on a Monday. That was nice to be able to relax a little bit and drink an extra cup of coffee. One thing that did bother me, although I didn't let it dent my good mood, was that Eric took his break even when he came in so late he shouldn't have gotten one. Oh well. Another funny thing concerning work, the clock in the back of the house (aka, the kitchen) is stuck on military time, so we're joking around like "c'mon 14:00" (fourteen hundred), and "go time is 14:00," and other rather more rediculous things.

Something that's taken me to today to realize: I really like the violin. Like, it's happy & sad @ the same time. It can take you from joyous to grim determination to hopeful resignation all in just a few notes. It's like... hard to describe, but I love it. Places of note in which a violin is played suchly: the music used for Rohan in Lord of the Rings, and track nine on Us and Them. I totally listened to track nine (w/e the name is) three or four times just to hear the violin.

Shinedown's new cd's pretty good. You should listen, it'll rock your socks off.. and a half. These guys are rock/goth/emo, w/o really being goth or emo. They're really good, but not a band to fit many tastes (like say, 3 Doors Down which'll be heard on pop stations, rock stations, and also which many country listening people like [maybe that's one step toward the light]).

Dude, this new guy @ work totally came to work wasted; eyes all bloodshot, incoherent; and he's already a strange guy. He'll like just randomly yell stuff, like "man!," or "f***!," or "I'm game!," or just other stuff relating to things you do like if you drop something he'll yell like, "pick that up boy," or something like that, and he always apologizes when he does. Who knows. But today when he came in to work high, he grabbed a knife and walked up to me and asked me, "do I look high to you?" Alotta stuff went through my head at that moment like, "oh crap he's going to stab me" and "you don't look high as long as you have a butcher knife in your hand." I ended up backing away (w/o looking like I was backing away) and just mumbled some stuff and walked away, hoping for the best. Scary moment, let me tell you.

Well, I went to Stephen's this evening. KP went too. It was kinda cool 'cause Kennth & I arrived @ almost the exact same time. The first thing we did was preview the new cd player that I (("I" meaning Devin & Dad... I did hold the flashlight)) finally put in. Anywayz, after the sound system demo we all proceeded to pull out "the goods." I brought Walther, the .357, and the paintball gun Stephen had lent me ((along w/ paintballs & CO2)); Stephen pulled out his bb gun & his bow; Kenneth... he brought himself... and HALO. After pulling out our accumulated armory, we put up a couple boxes and cans and took turns w/ each gun shooting the cans. Stephen also for some reason put up a piece of plywood. I shot that w/ the bow. I actually hit it about half the time; cool considering the distance and bad condition (and lack of points) of the arrows.

There was one arrow I shot that I couldn't for the life of me find. I searched behind the board, beside the board, and in front of the board ((in short, all around the board)) and couldn't find the thing. As it turns out, it had stuck in the tree that the plywood was leaning against; funny considering that the arrow didn't have a tip. Stephen found it when we were "painting" Kenneth's shirt. For some reason (and I still don't really know why) Kenneth and Stephen thought it would be funny if we threw paintballs @ KP's under shirt, which we did (he wasn't wearing it when we threw the paintballs). Weird, I know; but oh well.

After that was cleanup time. We... cleaned up. We put away the weapons and headed inside for some HALO. I showed them the warthog jump you can do in HALO 1 ((ask me later if you want to know more)). Didn't have much time after that before we ate ((and the food was reallly good btw)), but after eating, we went back to video games. KP & I beat the last lvl (level) of HALO 2 for Stephen 'cause he hadn't seen it beaten and wanted us to.

Then it was fireworks time!! Scary I know, but it's what we do. We shot some off, dabbled in different things to do w/ fireworks, and burned stuff. I also officially labled KP a pyro. No one was burned ((surprised? I am too)).

After all of that and freezing (@ least getting numb hands and noses), we headed back in for some multiplayer (in HALO). Stephen just wanted to watch, so KP & I battled each other: Snipers on Foundation, Rockets on Foundation, Brute shots on Midship, Swords on Ivory Tower, and Rockets on Ascention ((not to brag but...)) all of which I won. But we all had a good time. KP might have won the one on Midship, I can't remember. He put up a good fight either way.

After that we all left. Well, Kenneth & I left. Stephen stayed. But that's to be expected.

seems like evry time i try to make that jump, I always seem to get hit by something; pretty much stopping that idea dead in its tracks which usually results in a sometimes uncomfortable fall ((see above illustration)). you woulda thought I would have learned to stop trying to make that jump, but hey, I'm stubborn like that... or too blind to realize it; one of the two.

I like paint way too much. Because of this, I've decided to do a "Mr. Bitmap" series.

Here's #2:

Well, other than playing Halo (2) @ the Mobley's, Watching Blade Trinity and playing games w/ Devin, drawing stuff on paint, reading, working, and going to school; I haven't really been up to much. The Halo was fun "Only the strongest will survive, lead me to heaven when we die..." ((breaking benjamin: blow me away)). Blade's pretty cool and that movies good. I'm still reading the seventh (I think it is) book in the Wheel of Time series, it's good stuff. I gotta recheck the book to keep it from getting overdue. Work's alright. I found out today that I'm more than likely entitled to a raise pretty soon that I don't think the managers were ever going to tell me. Today was also a very ((very being an understatement. redunkulous would fit better)) busy day; non-stop rush almost all day. "I've seen better days, been the star of many plays. I've seen better days. *and the bottom drops out*." ((don't know artist: Better Days)) And then there's school... ok, moving on. Actually, I'm not sure what to move on to... oh well. I'm out of stuff. My blogging skills are dwindling quickly. "Someone save me if you will, and take away all these pills" ((shinedown: save me)). OH! I found that their new cd came out on tuesday, so that went on the things to aquire/b-day list. Along w/ Trapt's new one. All this good stuff comin' out.

I'm starting a after-work project that might last well into the forseeable future. After work I'm going to be digging in the back yard. Now, don't think I'm a moron right off the bat. This project has a purpose. The project is to level off a large section of the backyard for water drainage and landscaping purposes. Dad just doesn't have the time, and it would cost an arm and a leg to pay someone: so I'm doing the job. I don't mind it; I like doing stuff like that. And I needed something to get me outside anyway.

I'm just thinkin' out loud here (as loud as one can think when typing...) but I'm seriously thinking about abandoning any sort of engineering (because I am quickly realizing that math is not particularly my strong point, even though it's not the worst.) In place of that pursuit lands interior design. Yes, you heard (or saw me type) correctly: I'm thinking of, or more like planning to, pursuing interior design.

Well, even if it's not what's causing the headaches, the doctor said today that I'm hypoglycemic. Well, spontaneously hypoglycemic. But either way. I can't skip meals anymore, at least that's what the doctor said. And I have this diet I have to follow, but it's not real bad, especially when you're required to start off the day with eggs and bacon. The hardest thing will be eating as much as they want me to; it's not really that much nessecarily, but I'm not a big eater. Oh well. Anyways, that's all the news I have for now.

"I wanna know! Can you show me?..." yes, at work this morning, they played the song ranked #1 to stick in my head. It's not so bad though. That song makes me laugh, and is one of the few songs that will put me in a good mood. A couple others that'll do that is Higher by Creed and Skin by Breaking Benjamin; the reason of which is because of a more or less inside thing between David and I involving an "air guitar." The only other good song they played today was Away From the Sun (3 Doors Down). That's a keeper there. And with a couple a good songs played, I was in a good mood, especially sense the night guys actually did more prep work than they normally do, which is anything more than nothing. Things were going good, orders weren't coming uber fast, and things were going smoothly, then *bam* all of a sudden it hit me, I was about to pass out for reasons as of yet unbeknownst to me. It took a good 10 or 15 minutes for me to be able to get back up on my feet and walk around without evrything going black; after which I was decidedly pale as the front folk pointed out. But other than that completely random and bizarre incedent, today was a great day.

I also got the plaque for my sword completed and on the wall with the sword sword on it, along with the accompanying picture frames which hold a grouping of maps I made, and in the other a goodly number of four-leafed clovers (along with some "fivers").

Tomorrow I'm headed to that docter guy to see about my persistant headaches and the whole passing out from time to time thing. That's gonna be alotta fun! At least I'll get to sleep later than I would if I had to go over to Decatur, but I don't have class there tomorrow morning (yesss).

In other news: I've had Loser (by Beck) stuck in my head all stinkin' morning. I only know little bits and pieces of the song so it's starting to get a little annoying. It could be due to the fact that for some odd and unknown reason, ever sense I looked up the lyrics on the net, that evrything seems to have had that song on it: to hearing in the radio at (seemingly) more frequent intervals, and on this little silly video clip, and on some other thing too.
