round and round we go

I was working on my chainmail last night. It's cool stuff. I need to get to the Home Depot and get some more wire and some of my own tin snips. Last night, though, I was experimenting with some different ways of doing it. I think I'm going to make my chain a mix of the "standard" link pattern with bits and parts of the piece using the Japanese chainmail link pattern, double-ringed and with leather plates fixed in between. The little piece I made looks cool, and I'm thinking I'm going to use it on the shoulders and at the base to cover the side of the legs. I might also see about finding a large enough piece (or large enough pieces) of leather to cut to shape, maybe put in rivets, and fix to the chest and/or back of the mail. I'll probly just keep it all chain with a little bit of leather here and there.

Now it is time to be off to Comp 1000... growl, I hate 8:00 classes... especially when they're a half-hour (or so) walk away.
Anyways.....
